Looks like someone in town is acting as a “secret shopper” and reviewing local churches, which I think is cool by the way. But I don’t think he/she liked our loud music, or the fact that we had Coldplay pumping through the system. I’ll admit, our sound is pretty crazy (although I don’t think we’re hitting 110db consistantly). Our speakers are mounted at near ear level, and if you sit in the front row, it can be pretty loud. Hopefully we’ll get this problem fixed when we move in about 4 weeks (Yes!). The review continues and I totally appreciate whoever it is - Thanks for visiting!

I’ve been a visitor to Worship Matters. I just subscribed so I won’t miss out on any of the great articles there. Just thought I’d pimp it here in case anyone hasn’t been there. Here are a couple examples of the great subject matter being discussed over there:

• What about vocal solos on Sunday morning?
• When feet want to be hands
• Who pays for music equipment?

I don’t know, I guess I am just a sucker for real practical topics like these.

Thanks to Anthony Coppedge for turning me on to this: Midnight Oil’s Countdown Creator. I watched the video, if it works as well as shown, then this looks to be an amazing tool - I know we get sick of our countdown about every 4-5 weeks. Plus, I’d love to have our series graphics up for our countdown. Only bummer, it’s not available for mac… I think I’m gonna buy it this week and try it out - I’ll let you know how well it works (or doesn’t).

Question. Do you use a countdown?

Speaking of series graphics, I am not sure if I posted our current series or not. I created this on the fly, like the week before we started, so it’s not super creative, but it gets the job done.

Watching the local news this morning and Pat Monahan (of the band Train, you know “Drops of Jupiter”, “Calling All Angels”) was performing - as I was watching I noticed an uncanny resemblance to our blogging worship leader, Rich Kirkpatrick.

Please notice the dark glasses, “stick on” goatee patch, and the “I’m not a famous rock star” hat. Rich, or should I say “Rich” - you may be fooling everyone else, but not me!
