24 11/23 & 108 Days
Doesn’t matter whether Obama or McCain win, two things are for sure.
1. This is happening on November 23rd
2. This is happening in January 2009
I can’t wait.

Who I Should Vote for.
We played this game at the blog a couple weeks ago with some lively discussion. Today Vince turned me onto this little survey, and according to my answers I should vote for these candidates (in this order):
- Ralph Nader (seriously does this guy even have a chance?)
- Cynthia McKinney (who is she?)
- Barack Obama (he does have the best website)
Still undecided? Go take the test, then share your results… it’s gettin’ close!
[update]
Took the test again for Facebook and got McKinney, Obama, Nader… who is this McKinney?

Power Comment
Sometimes clarity hits me like eating the most choice steak - I love steak (sorry vegans).
It’s like when you’re tuning a guitar and you get that string to the exact frequency and the whole guitar responds with warmth.
It’s like when a teacher reveals something profound in a way that makes complete sense to you.
It’s like that perfect sunset that puts and end to that perfect day you spend with someone you love.
(sorry I got all mushy).

Miles Kicks Butt!

Oh how I would get my mouth washed out with soap 25 years ago! But our boy, Miles has been in Taekwondo for the past month or so and is making some cool progress. Since Rich posted this, I had post this! Miles, we’re so proud of you!

Gas Shower!
I sent this twitpic out yesterday because I was so excited to be buying gas for $2.99 a gallon. Vince replied with this:

And I couldn’t resist this:
One of the great movie scenes. How cheap is gas in your neighborhood?

Pumpkins Carved!

Tonight we carved pumpkins & cooked pumpkin seeds. And there was much rejoicing!
Did you carve already? If so leave me a comment with your post - we want to see what everyone else is doing. So far I’ve only seen Brad’s post.

Yes I do Dishes…
We have an interesting schedule at our house. I work Tuesday-Sunday (usually take Saturday mornings off). Jen works Wednesday-Sunday. So that means that we do a lot of double duty. For example, I do some of the cooking, laundry, shuttling kids to school, etc. And yes, I do dishes. Here’s an example of my handiwork in the kitchen…
Before:

After:

It only took me 22 minutes. And yes, there were so many dishes that they didn’t all fit in the dishwasher! It was because we had Jen’s mom, dad, and sister enlaw over for dinner the night before - which I cooked a mean meal for too!

16 Random Things

My buddy Conner from good ol’ Louisiana hit me up to do this post.
- I’ve lived in California all my life. In northern Cal for the first half, and southern for the second half.
- I hate nuts. Except peanuts, I like those.
- I dated my wife for 7 years before we married. We’ve been married now for 8. I love her beyond words…
- My first car was a white Pontiac Sunbird.
- Since then I’ve had a Ford Explorer Sport, 68 VW Bug, Dodge Stratus (that’s right I drove a Stratus!), Ford Focus Wagon, Ford Ranger (current), Chevy Suburban, and a Suzuki XL7 (current).
- I’m what some consider ‘uneducated’. Graduated High School, spent a couple years a junior college, a couple years at Bible College. But no degree. Someday… for now I go to the school of hard knocks.
- I’m a first generation American (by birth). My Dad was born in Canada, as was his Dad. My Great Grandfather was from Scotland.
- I am an ENFJ.
- I use Photoshop for almost everything, it still won’t cook meals…
- In my short career I’ve been a: Paperboy, worked at McDonald’s, landscaper (with my dad’s business, then again for a friends business), Sandwich Artist (that’s what they call working at Subway), music store guy (I guess that’s a salesman), delivery guy for a sandwich shop, caterer, graphic designer, sign shop manager, sheet metal shop apprentice, commercial AC installer, snow board builder, framer, business owner, and pastor.
- I went to Christian school until high school. I hated it then, I value it now.
- I went through a period in my life where I was very angry at God and those around me.
- I’m a sucker for a long movie, and I always finish movies. This drives my wife crazy. For me when it comes to movies, the longer the better.
- I’m a budding soccer fan thanks to James.
- I used to surf almost every day. I haven’t gone out just to surf in 6 years (since Miles was born).
- This list took up way too much of my time to create.
There you have it. Vince, James, Chris, Peter, & James - you’re next.
