the life of a renaissance pastor
OK, breathe.
So we’re launching another venue. For those that don’t quite get that - we’re adding capacity (seats) to our church by opening up another room with another worship team, with teaching via video, and a pastor to kind of run the worship service. We’ll add about 200+ seats every weekend (add that to about [...]
On Sunday, September 14th, LifeChurch will be launching an additional venue to help with capacity (think, more open seats, more people). We’re calling it “Life Unplugged” and if you are quick you might guess that yes, this will be an acoustic driven worship experience (just kidding about the quick part). We’ll have the message piped [...]
Can’t sleep. It’s been a while since I’ve found myself in this position. I used to suffer from some mild sort of insomnia, balanced with a healthy dose of work-o-holisicm. I don’t know what happened but over the last couple years I’ve learned to shut down and spend more family time in the evenings. Since [...]
Many of you (337 to be exact) follow me on Twitter. Many of you don’t. For those who don’t, let me just say you are missing out! Twitter has been called a ‘micro-blog’ - it’s 140 character updates. What you’re doing, funny sightings, information sharing, etc. It’s alive, and just another great way to be [...]
Yup, as a gift to my wife for our 8th anniversary, I’m going to go cold turkey. We’re going to be spending the next 3 days together, just ourselves. Love you Jen - you are the best thing ever!
Blogs I’m Reading
Here’s some new (to me) blogs & some not so new (to me) blogs that I’m reading. If you’re like me and just like to get fresh, new perspective, spend some time checking ‘em out - it’ll be worth it.
What a hot topic this has become, and I’m sure will continue to be… Many of you, my blogging friends have written some great posts and comments on this issue. Some really good, sad, and interesting comments if you take the time to read through. But today I have something else on my heart. It’s [...]
I installed a new theme for all you RSSer’s. Come on by and check it out!
I got the idea from my good friend Vince, who just installed a new theme the other day. I totally got this theme from the same place he got his. Thanks Vinnie.
I don’t drive my blog very hard. Don’t do much promotion. But last week I thought, “why not?”. Why shouldn’t my blog be a growing continuation of my life? It is my vision to meet new people, learn from new people, engage in cultures outside my own - look at things differently. I believe that’s [...]
New blog series, that could last forever. I began playing drums around the age of 13-14. My parents bought me a combined set of drums from a garage sale, I swear it was like a 12 piece; double bass drums, double every size tom, double cymbals, everything - a beautiful mess. I played that thing [...]
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. IÕve been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media/communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative. At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live right, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay open & teachable, humble if I can say that. ThatÕs really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others. God has blessed me with more than I deserve and IÕm so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
