the life of a renaissance pastor
My good friend Karl sent this to me. It needs no explanation. [video embedded RSS'ers]
Now I have another blog to subsribe to, thanks Karl.
My wife’s father lives in Decatur, Alabama.
We went out and visited him a few years ago.
While we were there I told Jen we should visit a church.
She said that we didn’t bring our “church clothes”.
I said, “come again?”
Needless to say, we didn’t go to church. There was literally nothing going on (that we could find) [...]
I just got this video of me teaching a few months ago.
That was a bunch of fun - the whole idea I was trying to illustrate was that sometimes a christians we just have to step out in faith and begin living, and as we do we begin to learn what God has in store [...]
Here’s an interesting rabbit trail. From my google reader I watched the Cardboard Testimonies video thanks to Bobby. Bobby had a link over to Pat’s blog, where he originally watched the video. Pat had a cool post on different uses for the Wii. He had a link over to Johnny Chung Lee’s blog, where I [...]
Two Words: Creative Chaos.
Ok, I wanted to just say that and be done with it, but this movement begs to be explained (quickly). Imagine the creative minds & hearts from churches all over the world sharing their ideas, resources, and dreams, freely and openly. Creative Chaos.
For me this has a very special impact in my [...]
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, but the Bible talks a lot about honoring one another (Romans 12:10). I think we often overlook these verses, for various reasons. We desire honor above others, we’re afraid of others getting credit, we’re selfish, whatever. I’m out of town all week so I thought I’d [...]
Why would you? I don’t know, but just in case check this out - it’s a cool site called widgetbox. I ended up there from a search for a World Vision widget. Frank Grubbs from WV visits our church once a year and they do some amazing work. Anyway, after finding the widget, which by [...]
Loops, Loops, Loops, I love Loops, here they go down, down into my belly…
Seriously. Loops are amazing. I am a closet techno fan. Remix anything for me, throw it in a blender and push play, I’m in heaven.
This post got me going again. The guys over at Elevation put this loop together based off of [...]
LifeChurch.tv has an amazing series that we are kicking off this weekend called “What’s The Difference“. As I was perusing open.lifechurch.tv I noticed that the graphics package was not available (PSD/AI files). So I hit up Terry Storch to see if he could help and apparently they had some data loss at some time and [...]
Here’s a random video for you
I don’t know what I like more, the Guinness shirt, bagpipes, or Darth mask, or the fact that it’s all together… amazing.
And for you creative people you’ll want to watch these incredible videos:
Christmas Production - from Pace Heartfield
which I originally found from Motionhouse’s blog where interestingly enough there’s another [...]
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. I have been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media / communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative.
At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live in community, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay real and teachable, humble if I can say that. That is really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others.
God has blessed me with more than I deserve and I am so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
