She’s doesn’t get enough face time here on the blog, so I just thought I’d post this:

So Jen is helping her mom do a large catering job for the entire month of July, which means she is away about 3-4 days (& nights) a week, which means I’m in charge of the kiddo’s (I know, scary). So we’ve been eating alot of cereal, apples, bananas, and mac & cheese, watching alot of movies, and working in 1-2 hour shifts while kids eat & sleep.

I came home from church yesterday and spent about an hour with her and the kids before she had to leave. Later that night when I went upstairs, I found this little pink note on the mirror. We’ve been getting into the habit of leaving eachother notes every once in a while, just telling eachother how we feel, how much we appreciate & love eachother. So it was so cool to find this little note. Here’s a couple little excerpts:

Jen’s (my wife) Grandma, Ruth Green suffered a heart attack last night and is right now still in intensive care, in critical condition. Pray for her comfort and health, for wisdom for the doctors, and for peace for the entire family - especially her husband Mel.

Tonight was one of those nights… We had dinner at Pat & Oscars with one set of Grandparents, when we got a call from the other set of Grandparents - they stopped by to say hi to the kids. Then we took a walk around the duck pond in a perfect southern california summer sunset. We are blessed.

Miles’ best little buddy, Joshua had his 4 year old party last night - it was a blast! It was at Pump it Up - a local bounce house, crazy birthday joint. I think I worked off about 10lbs playing with the kids, racing through mazes, sliding down the giant slides, and just having a great time. Both Miles and Macy had fun, our whole family had fun, so much fun in fact that I TOTALLY forgot that I had to leave early for rehearsal. Now you know that we were having too much fun! Thanks Beemans!

So we were over at the Grandparent’s tonight. Uncle Kevin decided to take Miles on a quad ride, which he absolutely loves. And of course our dog, Java had to get in on the action - she loves riding on the back. Only thing is, is that she doesn’t always hold on too well…
