the life of a renaissance pastor
My son Miles is a HUGE Star Wars fan, as was I when I was a little boy. I had all the toys, dressed up like Luke Skywalker (who I called Luke Flyswatter), and watched the movies every time I had a chance. Now my son has followed in his dad’s footsteps. The coolest thing [...]
Here’s a fun way to stay current with the Olympics. Google has a map which shows medals won by countries. Pretty cool I’d say.
Here’s the link to the original page, cuz it’s kind of jacked up in my blog.
This will be either:
a. something we will sacrifice some eating or something to purchase later this month or
b. a great gift idea for the McLean’s!
Check out the video (and yes for purists, it seems like they re-recorded it).
Here’s a complete song list, thanks to this site:
Nipmuc
“All the Young Dudes” - Mott the Hoople
“Dream Police” [...]
Here’s an interesting rabbit trail. From my google reader I watched the Cardboard Testimonies video thanks to Bobby. Bobby had a link over to Pat’s blog, where he originally watched the video. Pat had a cool post on different uses for the Wii. He had a link over to Johnny Chung Lee’s blog, where I [...]
At least I think that’s what the final tally was (it was late). I gotta give it up to Victor and gang for an amazing night of killing and flag capturing. The night began with me getting to our church thinking 15 minutes would be enough time to setup, which it would have been if [...]

What started as a little Halo smack talk via Twitter today between Vince, James, Victor and I has turned into an all out battle for bragging rights. It’s gonna be the OC vs. the 951 (or close). If you are in SoCal and want to get in on some old school Halo 1, leave a [...]
Miles is becoming quite the Guitar Hero player and we love, love, love to play! I hope it never ends!
(I think he’s got his dad’s butt?)
Call me a geek, wierdo, nerd, gamer-freak, whatever - I don’t care. I’m playing HALO tonight, again… for the 3rd week in a row. Halo 1, Halo 2, doesn’t even matter. I called all the guys, we got’s the xbox (that’s right, the ORIGINAL xbox), TV’s, projector - we are set! So if you are [...]
We joined/started a new LifeGroup about a month or so ago. We’ve been a little apprehensive to start one again, just because we’ve been so busy over the past months because of staffing changes & moving into the building. But we knew it was important for us to be involved at that level, plus we’d [...]
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. I have been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media / communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative.
At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live in community, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay real and teachable, humble if I can say that. That is really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others.
God has blessed me with more than I deserve and I am so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
