the life of a renaissance pastor
(the view from behind our front door)
Today I’d like to talk about missions in your face. Actually in MY face. I’ve been on too many Mexico missions trips to remember. I’ve co-led a Romania missions trip. My wife Jen went to Fiji on a missions trip. When I was a youth pastor I used to [...]
I’ve been getting more and more questions about blogging each week - mainly from people in our church. So being the amazing blog guru that I am (hear the sarcasm?), I think I’m going to try an organize a once a month (or something like that) blog session. My ultimate dream would be that the [...]
Just an update on two families that we have the opportunity to (continue to) pray for.
The Joy’s. Wade, Ferris, and their two twin girls, Adleigh & Liana. Quick version: these twins were born prematurely and have some serious health issues. Read more here.
Wade & his wife both have specific prayer requests. And here’s a powerful [...]
Yup the ol blog is back online. In case you missed it, it was down from about midnight last night until about 8am this morning.
The problem? I upgraded to the latest Wordpress release. And I followed directions too!
The culprit? A bad plugin.
The solution? deleted!
Thank You’s, Shout Out’s, Wup-Wup’s go out to: James, Will, & Pete [...]
I got my Tom’s Shoes yesterday and I was stoked! I’m gonna have to get used to them. They’re what I call little shoes. But I love ‘em cuz of what they stand for and I love being a very, very small part of that. Here’s me trying to look cool - I know, I’m [...]
One of my many jobs was working for a music store while I was in high school & college (what college I attended). This wasn’t just any music store, not a Guitar Center or Sam Ash. It was Hogan’s Music, owned by Chuck Block, father of Ron Block, guitarist for Alison Krauss. Chuck taught me [...]
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. IÕve been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media/communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative. At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live right, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay open & teachable, humble if I can say that. ThatÕs really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others. God has blessed me with more than I deserve and IÕm so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
