the life of a renaissance pastor
This election was pretty interesting, especially in the use of social media/web 2.0. I think one of the coolest things about what has happened over the past few years is the web has brought us closer to the action - inviting us to participate more. Some would argue that social media has caused us to [...]
While not a laughing matter, I thought about titling this post “Apple is Gay!”, or “Burn the Macbooks!”. But seriously, this from Apple today:
Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to [...]
I apologize ahead of time for this post.
Saw this over at YouTube:
Just in case you missed it, catch up on Parts 1, 2, 3, & 4 first.
This is a little late because I was out of town, got back, played catch up on a lot of stuff and now am back in the swing of things. Anyway, saw this video over on Victor’s blog & thought [...]
While Jen and I were watching the McCain/Palin Rally, she noticed something that I couldn’t put my finger on… See if you can see the resemblance:
Yup, our new VP could be a Tina Fey look-a-like, and that can’t be a bad thing! As huge SNL fans, and I myself a closet 30 Rock fan, [...]
A news update on the Michael Guglielmucci / Healer saga (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3):
ANGRY Christians have condemned disgraced pastor Michael Guglielmucci’s cancer hoax as the ultimate act of betrayal – and they want their money back.
His lawyer revealed yesterday that the inspirational preacher was receiving psychiatric help after confessing to faking a two-year [...]
So I’m sitting here watching “Beauty Shop” (don’t ask), and I ask my wife, “who’s that comedian guy with the really buggy eyes that had his own TV show?”
And she says, “Yeah that’s Bernie Mac, and you know he died right?”
To which I respond, “Whaaaaaaaaaaat?”
Yes, I just found out, and I am sad. I swear [...]
The blogosphere is bursting at the seams with this news. With encouragements, admonishments, anger, sadness, finger pointing, and forgiveness. I’ve read almost all of your posts and comments - great stuff, great perspective. If this is something new to you, go get a “big picture” point of view on this issue. Here’s my best attempt [...]
The Christian/Worship blogosphere is buzzing this morning with the recent news surrounding the song “Healer”. Here’s the short of it:
A FORMER Adelaide pastor who inspired hundreds of thousands of young Christians with his with his terminal cancer “battle” has been exposed as a fraud.
Michael Guglielmucci, whose parents established Edge Church International, an Assemblies of God [...]
From Harvest.org:

In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived [...]
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. I have been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media / communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative.
At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live in community, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay real and teachable, humble if I can say that. That is really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others.
God has blessed me with more than I deserve and I am so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
