the life of a renaissance pastor
Every once in a while I get to lead worship at my church; this was one of those weekends, and I had a blast! We pulled the drums out of their soundproof ‘cave’ and had our drummer play with some metal brushes. Acoustic bass, two acoustic guitars, and Melissa and me on vocals. I thought [...]
Video embeded all you RSSer’s…
I know it’s supposed to be a spoof and we should be all offended and stuff, but something tells me this guys on to something…
What do you think?
I don’t know a lot about Hillsong & United. I do know that they Rock. And they’ve been rocking for a couple decades now. I’ve had a vision of raising up a generation of young people who aren’t afraid to be expressive in their worship. I don’t mean just clapping and singing, I mean just [...]
The Christian/Worship blogosphere is buzzing this morning with the recent news surrounding the song “Healer”. Here’s the short of it:
A FORMER Adelaide pastor who inspired hundreds of thousands of young Christians with his with his terminal cancer “battle” has been exposed as a fraud.
Michael Guglielmucci, whose parents established Edge Church International, an Assemblies of God [...]
Thanks to Micah & Erica, we got some cool shots from ONE VOICE. Check ‘em all out here, and here are just a couple samples.
Here’s the weekly Sunday Setlist! I didn’t spend much time in the “Big House” this weekend (our slang for adult worship experience). But here’s the set list - I caught one services worth of worship over the course of four visits.
Forever - Tomlin
Blessed Be Your Name - Redman
Doxology - I think it was a Crowderesque [...]
Last night, Friday, was simply amazing. Multiple churches gathered together singing in ONE VOICE to our God, about our God. Multiple pastors leading us in prayer as we lifted ONE VOICE of prayer to our God for our cities, for healing, for restoration, for revival.
We’ll have a more detailed wrap up of the event soon [...]
So my buddy Fred started a little trend called “Sunday Setlist“. I’m not sure if this is taking the place of worship confessionals or what, but I thought I’d play along. Now, I’m not the worship pastor at LifeChurch, in fact we don’t have one. I’m the executive pastor, who just has a heart for [...]
LifeChurch is looking for a passionate & motivated leader to come in and take the reigns with our Youth Worship Band. We’ve been developing the worship program for our Youth over the past few months and now we are ready for the right person to come on board and knock it out of the park! [...]
Maybe you are a new reader, or maybe you just haven’t caught wind of ONE VOICE. But I’m very excited about what is happening with some local churches throughout the Temecula Valley. We’re gathering 7 churches together for a night of worship, celebration & prayer. I’ve been working very hard on organizing along with Karl, [...]
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. I have been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media / communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative.
At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live in community, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay real and teachable, humble if I can say that. That is really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others.
God has blessed me with more than I deserve and I am so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
