Worship Environments 3

Took a little trip up to the Grove in Riverside. We’re affiliated with the same denomination (the Alliance), and our lead pastor was at a conference up there a couple weeks ago and said we had to go check it out. So we did, and here’s my Treo pics to prove it.

This is their Cafe & Bookstore – that’s off campus, down the street

They call this the “chapel”. It’s a little smaller than our main worship center.

Every church has a giant cross somewhere.

High school worship center – a little drab.

Junior high worship center – also a little drab. But hey, NICE ROOMS!

I think they have terminator robots behind this door.

This explains the demographic.

Info booth – a little lack of color & design, but very functional.

So my impressions were: amazing facility, looks like everything was done right. My only criticism is that it feels a little stale, not much color or design element – looks very baby boomerish, which is most likely their biggest client. It also feels a little “over built”, everything is just bigger than life, huge columns, hallways, chandeliers, etc.

Don’t be covetious; I’m sure they’ve got larger debt than you guys too… ;)

That Gym is freakin sweet. I agree with you on the blandness of some of the rooms.
