My Dear Responsible Tenant, Thanks for your interest in my house and How are you doing today?
The House Is a 4 br 2 ba Single-Family Home, which my wife and I occupied before leaving for Nigeria. We left on a self Mission following God’s Call to Preach the Word and Let people of all Nations Hear about Him. My wife and I thought of ourselves and asked God what we would give him and He says we should sacrifice our life and give him the best we can, letting humans know about him. The bible account of Luke 12: 29-31, don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you. We decided to do the missionary work.

My wife and I have spent so much time and money to maintain it up till its standard. We have been trying our best to make the house as clean as possible, because am a clean person and we don’t like dirt around our surroundings and also the Bible says cleanliness is next to Godliness. The house is wonderful both in and out

So we are looking for a well-behaved, clean and honest tenant to rent out our house too. As regards to that, we will like you to give us your word and promise us that you will take very good care of our house, so that we will be happy when we come to visit you in the future.. We would like to work any flexible plan you have on your term of renting, Long or short term or month by month. While we were leaving, we took along with us the keys just to view the Land if it would be favorable for God’s Work, on getting down here we decided to proceed with preaching the Good News, since the inhabitants of this country need to learn much more about him. I responded to a ad on Craigslist and received this email, good to know there are other people bringing this to our attention so that we can avoid this scam…

I did get your response concerning the AD I posted on craigslist. The house is still available but presently I’m not around.. I did bid for a portion of petroleum land sometimes ago in West Africa and fortunately I won the bidding so I have to move quickly down to Africa to have my company set up because I will still have to rabid for it in the next 10 years. I came over here with my wife, we both bought the house when we got married. As soon as we settle down here I had a thought of selling the house so I have to look for an agent, after getting one, we got a deal but later my wife advised against that. She said we may not be able to win the bidding next time, in other to keep our head when we return that we have to keep the house. I reasoned with her and accepted her advise. So I contacted the agent back and requested for my keys and documents. Later we decided to have the house rent out, we would have give the same agent this job also but the truth of the matter is that the agent would want to handle it professionally and the occupant may not be able to reason along with him later. If you notice, you will discovered that the price we are offering is far below standard price, this is enough for you to know that we are not after the rental fee but the absolute care for the property. I know there is no way I can be sure that you are the right person to live in the house because we won’t be able to see physical before sending you the keys and the documents to occupy the space. But I just had a feeling that anyone who knows what it takes to put the kind of structure down should know that maintaining a building is mandatory, so if you belief you can take good care of the house and handle it like yours then I will be more than happy to let you rent the house.

I should have been more worried when I saw this offer for a furnitured flat for only 550 Swiss Francs when this is the price I currently pay for my tiny room. Yep … I got the same email as Noah above. From “Samuel Olander.” Looks like these scammers are wising up and not sending that suspicious ‘application form’ with the email response. The email came from this address: asonmuel7@gmail.com.

Is there a way to report these addresses to gmail to have them suspended/investigated? I’m assuming these posts have been flagged on Craigslist ad nauseum.

I’m glad to have found this site before I bought into what he was saying. Sadly, the name he was using and the address matched up when I looked them up so he could be scamming more people than those that respond to his ads

Thank GOD I found this before I became a complete idiot. I figured something was fishy when i kept asking to see the inside of the house before I decided to rent… then when I did a drive by, the place was still occupied.
I found the posting on Craigslist, which today I found has been flagged. The person emailing me is Place Home a person calling themselves JOSHUA ANDERSON at numbers +234-802-444-6958 or 011-234-802-444-6958 . They requested $500 from me via Western Union in order to secure a deposit, send lease documents, keys, etc overnight. I am very glad I was smart enough to google the phone number. Thanks a ton!!

When i rcvd his reply i was very disappointed. This guy is stupid.I sent only one email. The reply had very odd phone numbers and he tells me he thinks im the best candidate for renting his home when all i asked for was the total move in cost.. NOT very bright. His reply screams….SCAM!!! I put his supposed phone number in yahoo search and it gave me this blog. I feel people should see the reply i got and hopefully he doesnt take advantage of anyone. I received the same email this morning. I knew it was to good to be true.
Rental listing for a 3 bedroom 2 bath house 728 millstream drive Rock hill, SC. I spent maybe 30 minutes yesterday trying to figure out the address of the house. I looked it up on google and it showed commercial properties obviously there was no grass or forest green around like there was on the picture of the house. So I looked it up on mapquest and shows me a bunch of trees and there wasn’t even a road! After all that I emailed the person who posted the rental listing Jamie Warren asking where exactly the house was located so I could go check out the neighborhood myself. They emailed me back today, and not once in the email did they verify the location .. landmarks.. nothing. Here’s the email.

My first red flag was address not showing up on google satellite and price way to good.
Second missionary from Nigeria..
third I prefer to go through a rental agency and have legal contracts written up
fourth They never answered my question about the location
Fifth Offered the house to me right away with out a background check

I reported the listing on the website it was posted and also of course warned my friends via facebook

Thank goodness I read this before I replied. I received the same email for a 3 bedroom in Torrance CA. I googled the guys name and the home address. Finally this came up when I googled international Christian crusade. It really shows how low people are. I am so glad I read this before I responded.

My family and I have been looking for houses we can afford here in Franklin, TN. Unfortunately, we exchanged a few e-mails back and forth with this low, conniving, ass hat. But thanks to a) an uneasy feeling inside and b) Google returning this blog as the first result of my search for “International Christian Follower’s Crusade” I can now go tell this guy exactly what I think of him. This just appeared and disappeared on craigslist yesterday. I actually drove by the house and saw someone home. I rang the bell and she said to call the owner. I called the number on the sign in front of the house and the owner said they were asking $1295 for the house. The craigslist AD said $700 (WAAAAY too good to be true). Turns out these people got a house that actually is for rent and tried this scam on us! The text of the e-mail is pretty much verbatim all of those above. The address is 302 Meeting Hall Dr. in Morrisville, NC. I believe the property is actually for rent, but someone else was trying to run a believable scam on the property.

We would like to send the following documents to you via FedEx next day delivery to the address you sent to us and the tracking number will be sent to you so that you can possibly occupy our house. Please once again, we are giving you this based on trust so please do not disappoint us and i promise you that, you will love the house.

We are with the under listed documents here with us and you will need to make Payment for the security deposit ($600 US)to enable shipment of the Keys and documents to the address you have provided to us via 24 hours fedex delivery, after which you could move in at your convenience.
