Daily Devotions: John 4:34
I came home from vacation tonight for rehearsal (I had to, it was important for me to show the team how seriously I take this time). Anyway so I get home and start getting ready. We had a great rehearsal, good talk, good music, good friends, and our tech team showed up and setup all the songs and videos for the weekend (Thank You!).
Anyway, all that said, I forgot to eat dinner, and now it’s like 9:00pm, Macy is sleeping, so I can’t go out. I start searching the pantry… nothing. The fridge… nothing. The freezer… nothing. Oh my, and the hunger pains hit me, and I feel like I’m gonna pass out anytime now. So I find a box of Macaroni & Cheese, but we have no milk, so I make a bowl of Macaroni & “no cheese”. Hey it did the job.
As I was going through this process, this verse came to my mind:
My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
Sometimes I feel like this verse is literal. Sometimes I get going and so excited about my work that I don’t eat, and it doesn’t bother me too much. I’m sure that it’s not healthy, but I love doing what I do so much that sometimes I feel like I could pass on the food and do more ministry… Just a thought.

i am the same way. food is last on the priority list. i think i may have gotten to the point where i view it as fuel, i still like it though.
don’t get me wrong - I love me some good food!
