Green Lynx Spider

We found this in our yard today (thank you macro mode on the Canon Powershot Pro). We put him in a cup and brought him inside for a closer look. Googled spiders and found out through this site and this site that this is a Green Lynx Spider. He (or she) was a fairly large spider – maybe like 3-4 inches long. According to wikipedia it’s a fast running, jumping, kick butt predator. So we brought it back outside, did a photo shoot and let him get back to rockin the yard. The kids got a total kick out of our spider & spent about a half hour checking out spiders on the web – another reason I love the internet.

We had the same fun last week with a common box turtle.. I had forgotten how cool innocent child-like wonder actually is.

Yuck! I agree with James. I don’t like spiders, unless it’s a Vista Systems Spyder. :-)
