How are You using Evernote?

I’ve decided that I have to get more organized. For those of you who know me, I know, you’re like “huh? I thought you were?” Well, I’m not that just the fact. There’s way more I want to get accomplished and my lack of organization (or next level of organization) is a road block right now. Bottom line, it’s time to re-organize.

I’ve hear a few people buzzing about Evernote. So I thought I’d give it a try. For those who don’t know what it is, check it out here.

What I’m really interested in is some real life examples of how people are using tools like Evernote (or more specifically Evernote in this case) to get things done better, to stay more organized, more on top of things. Maybe you’ve got something better? I’d love to hear about that too…

I’m all ears. (Evernote logo pun intended).

I use it for pretty much anything that requires a note or a reminder or a list or just something I’ll need to reference later. For example, if I’m in a meeting without my laptop, I use Evernote on my iPhone to make notes. When I’m done with the meeting, they are already sync’d with my laptop and desktop.

Also, I have a permanent note – ‘Shopping List’. When I remember I need something, I make a note. When I’m at the store, I pull that note up on the phone.

Great for offline blogging too – write, save, sync, and then I can post from any computer next time I’m online.

    Bookmarks, links, screenshots etc.

    Many many other ways.

I have multiple notebooks and I use the ‘Tags’ function extensively.

Honestly, I have had been using it for about a year and now have it in my iPhone, but I haven’t dug into it. I’ve used it more as a bookmarking app. When i see something online or around town, I link to it, take a pic, whatever.

As for to-do lists. I absolutely love Remember the Milk. I love how it integrates into everything I use. google, iPhone, Desktop. This is probably why I haven’t used Evernote to it’s potential.

If you dig into it, pots about it and show us how your using it.

Other than using it for keeping notes of stuff I find online I want to clip and save, I pretty much use it to keep my own personal set of “minutes” from weekly staff meetings or other meetings. It’s saved my buttinsky quite a few times already.

Here are some video use cases that I put together. We just integrated our project management/collaboration solution, Pelotonics with Evernote.

Let me know what you think! I am using it every day and it is helping me to capture my ideas when I have them and then task them out within my group collaboration solution.
