the life of a renaissance pastor
This is a belated post, life has been crazy. Two weeks ago Miles officially became a Kindergartner. That’s him with his sister on the first day of school. He’s in his uniform; school shirt (tucked in), & school pants complete with a belt. So far, so good. He goes to school 2 full days a week and then does homework on the off days. He’s got a great teacher, which we found out goes to our church, which is even cooler.
Tonight we had the Stout’s over for dinner and Miles proudly announces that he’s now in Kindergarten, and that he goes for 6 hours on Mondays and Wednesdays, and does homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then he has Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off. Then he says he likes everything about school except that he has to tuck his shirt in and wear a belt every day. Hey, he’s his father’s boy!
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. I have been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media / communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative.
At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live in community, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay real and teachable, humble if I can say that. That is really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others.
God has blessed me with more than I deserve and I am so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
