the life of a renaissance pastor

There’s some bloggers who I’d just like to say Thank You to this week. (Pete, I took care of you last week).
First off, Eric Beeman. Not only is he a great friend, but an awesome pastor, worship leader & blogger. He did a really nice post about this blog a couple weeks ago, and I never got a chance to say “Thank You”. Eric and I have been through a lot when it comes to ministry, and I’ve seen him show character and integrity through it all. He’s got a beautiful family - Joshua & Miles are buds, and Micah thinks he’s Macy’s boyfriend. Anyway, go check out his blog and show him some love when you have a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
Second is Brent, otherwise known as inWorship. I don’t really know a whole lot about this guy to be honest. But we’ve traded comments, read each others blogs, chatted, etc. for the past year or so. I always enjoy reading his blog and seeing what he has to say on different issues. He did something really cool - he did a post asking for prayer for our family and a couple other families that are going through the trials of life. How selfless and thoughtful, and what a great use of this blogging community! Go check out the post today, and keep your eye open for when him and Tammy do their live video chat - it’s a blast.
Third is Peter. Peter & Jami showed up in our lives a few months ago and have really been a blessing. You know those people who are easy to hang out with? You can just be real & who you are and not apologize? These people are those people. Peter’s been a great encouragement to me personally. He also challenges me with his thoughts on life & ministry - iron sharpening iron, to use the “christian” term. He’s got a great sense of humor and I think he’s one of those deeper thinkers (still trying to figure that one out). Go check out his blog here.
Thanks for the friendship, community, prayers, encouragements, & challenges. I love this community!
My name is Alex McLean and I am currently the executive pastor at LifeChurch in the Temecula Valley of Southern California. I have been a youth pastor and worship leader, as well as a media / communications pastor so I am into all kinds of things creative.
At the core, I am just a guy who is trying to live in community, and live life - not let it happen. I try and stay real and teachable, humble if I can say that. That is really one of the reasons I blog, is to share my experiences in life and learn from others.
God has blessed me with more than I deserve and I am so thankful for that. A beautiful wife and two incredible children. More friends and family than you can shake a stick at and just an amazing life that I am allowed to enjoy and or struggle with every day.
